A Bad Idea

Few years before Chennai was famous for three features
1. Hot Sun
2. Water scarcity.
3. Koovam River (Chennai Drainage System)

The second issue was solved partly because of the natural calamities.
Two natural personalities visited chennai aiming at Cleaning Chennai

1.Tsunami
2.Natural Rain

The impact of the first hit of Tsunami took many lives and it took months for people to come back to their normal life.

The second impact was due to heavy rain that made chennai to Float. Due to this almost all of the subways and roads were filled with water and caused much suffering to public.

Government declared Holidays to School. But what about Private Organizations ? No Holiday, you got to go office by any means even though if you do not have any means of Transportation.

Most of the roads were blocked because of the water which sustained in the Subways. And to make a note most of the subways in chennai have concrete roads. There are some pits and cracks which is not sufficient for the huge volume of water to get drained.

Government is investing bulk amount of money in Laying roads, instead of making use of Blocked Concrete slabs to construct roads, why don't they make use of perforated concrete slabs. These perforated concrete slabs are as stronger as blocked concrete slabs and also helps water to drain instantly. It is not that the complete road has to be constructed with this perforated concrete slabs. Water is getting accumulated only in the middle of the subway, so it is sufficient that if four blocks of perforated concrete slabs is used.

I believe there is no harm in implementing this idea, at the same time it helps in Cost Cutting.
